Susan Braun
Susan Braun joined BB&W in 2020 and serves as Of Counsel. Susan advises clients on a variety of regulatory and compliance matters at numerous regulatory agencies, including the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the California Independent System Operator Corporation, and the California Energy Commission (CEC).
Prior to joining BB&W, Susan worked for several years at McCarthy & Berlin. At McCarthy & Berlin, Susan advised clients on matters at the CPUC and CEC, including resource adequacy and the consequences of the 2000-2001 energy crisis. Susan was a member of a joint legal team navigating municipal utilities through litigation in the Ninth Circuit following the 2001 Energy Crisis. Prior to her tenure at McCarthy & Berlin, Susan served in the City Attorney’s office in Pleasanton, California where she drafted municipal ordinances, oversaw administrative hearings, and assisted code enforcement.
Susan received her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law and her undergraduate degree with high honors in Philosophy from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006 and is also admitted to practice in the Ninth Circuit.
